I'm Natalie. I like long walks on the streets & vintage shoe collecting.
My grandfather was a champion walker. My older sister and my niece wouldn't walk properly today if they hadn't had their hips straightened with a brace before they were two. Walking’s more than something I do. It’s who I am. I’m lucky. That's what we created the walking society for. Buy a print and help people around the world walk it in their own shoes with their own feet.
what?
the walking society is a not-for-profit awareness created to support, champion and enable walking as lifelong path to one’s best self. descartes thought, our philosophy’s walk. from the bible to our own celebrated first steps, walking is freedom. discovery. a path forward that doesn't go backwards. where getting lost can lead to finding your purpose in the world. an assertion of existence, connection to our roots, it’s something i would love to help the world do. to help action that premise, a portion of all abandon shoes prints will go towards a third party charity with a shared ethos. so while the charity we’re supporting will change, our drive to get everyone in the world walking, and back on their feet will won’t.

i love to walk. i always have and will. it's not what i do. it's who i am.
my grandfather was a champion walker. apparently it was a professional sport back in the 40’s. i’ve got the press tears to prove it. medals. awards. competitions. walking was where it was at mid-century. today it’s here. my grandfather was a champion walker.
my older sister and daughter my niece wouldn't walk properly today if they hadn't had their hips straightened with a bracebefore they were two. my first partner in my ad career was a talented athlete and i remember him saying one day how grateful he was to walk properly because he see so many people that can't. it stuck with m

I LOVE WALKING. IT'S PART OF WHO I AM. MY GRANDFATHER WAS A CHAMPION WALKER. MY GRANDMOTHER SUFFERED FROM MENTAL HEALTH ILLNESS FOR MOST OF HER ADULT LIFE. BEST OR WORST, WALKING WAS HER SANITY AND SAVIOUR. MANY CAN RELATE. MY OLDER SISTER WAS BORN WITH A HIP DISPLACEMENT. HAD MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS NOT CAUGHT IT AT INFANCY AND CORRECTED IT WITH A BRACE, SHE WOULD HAVE WALKED WITH A LIMP TODAY. SO TOO WOULD BOTH OF HER DAUGHTERS BORN WITH IT. THEY GOT LUCKY TOO. NOT EVERYONE DOES. THE WALKING CLUB IS ABANDON SHOES WAY OF PAYING IT FORWARD. WHERE THEIR WALK ENDS, ANOTHER'S CAN BEGIN. IF ABANDON SHOES STAND FOR NOTHING ELSE, IT'S WALKING POTENTIAL.
