you can tell a lot about yourself with nobody's shoes

Abandon Shoes started with a walk

Where theirs ends, mine finds them

maybe they find me

Either way, we're soulmates.

Solemates in shoe

They also don't need ‘u'

Or maybe I was just high on walking when I made the call

As a 35-year old that's never had a drivers' license, I do a lot of it

As a girl that doesn't like stepping in sh!t or eating it, I've always got an eye on the ground. One day an abandoned shoe caught my view

They hold it today.

When you're looking for something, you start finding it. If not, keep going. Even without wi-fi, you'll find something eventually. Almost there. Nowhere near. Tilt the lens. Re-frame the scene. Your walk. Your way. Just go for it. That’s all Abandon Shoes is meant to say. The rest is walking-generated nonsense.

As much yours as mine, I hope you enjoy the collection. It’s vintage. You can find it on the streets. I also encourage you to borrow from it & contribute to it anytime. The abandoned will take any attention they can get.

All photos shot on iPhone 5S/6 by Natalie Greenspan. No subjects are ever touched, retouched or filtered in her process. Framing being the only consideration, all shoes appear exactly as found. Courtesy of abandoners. Property of the streets.

Images originally published on Instagram have been unfiltered for the purposes of this site. They can be found @ngspan. All abandonshoes.com images will now be posted to @abandonshoes. They aren’t trending and don’t lead anywhere, but you can follow them there. They’d heart it.

Natalie’s a 30-something walker & snap shooter in Downtown Toronto. A city she has endless pride and fondness for. In her sparetime she can be found collecting her thoughts in the shoebox she lives in. It’s also not her own.
